Io sono il Buon Pastore dice Gesù nel Vangelo di Giovanni (10, 11ss., con l’aggettivo “kalos” che significa “bello” ma anche “buono” o “sapiente”). La bellezza di Gesù, il Buon Pastore, è unità di verità e di amore. La verità consiste nel fatto che Lui conosce le sue pecorelle e queste conoscono Lui, come il Padre conosce il Figlio e il Figlio il Padre. Questa conoscenza è il la dottrina del Padre, il Figlio, donata quale Verità all’uomo.

🇮🇹 Sabato Santo: GIORNO DI MARIA per eccellenza

Il sabato è il giorno di Maria perché in quel primo sabato della storia, il Sabato santo, proprio come oggi, Maria custodiva nel suo Cuore Immacolato la fede della Chiesa. Il Sacrificio di Gesù non era stato offerto invano. Maria crede e così consegna alla Chiesa e ai suoi Apostoli il mistero che ci fa cristiani, la verità integra del Venerdì santo con la gioia della Resurrezione. La fede di Maria tiene unite la fede pre- e post-pasquale della Chiesa, senza nessuna cesura.

Saturday is the day of Mary because, on that first Saturday in history — Holy Saturday — just as today, Mary kept the faith of the Church within her Immaculate Heart. The sacrifice of Jesus had not been offered in vain. Mary believes, and thus she entrusts to the Church and to her Apostles the mystery that makes us Christians: the full truth of Good Friday together with the joy of the Resurrection. Mary’s faith holds together the Church’s pre- and post-Paschal faith, without any break.

Un trittico salvifico in un Legno per porre rimedio ai danni venuti dal legno

Un inno composto da Venanzio Fortunato (530-609) dal titolo “Pange Lingua gloriosi”, conosciuto anche come “Crux fidelis” (da non confondere con il “Pange Lingua” eucaristico) cantato durante il Tempo di Passione e il Venerdì santo, mette in rilievo lo splendore della Croce, unico albero nobile, di cui nessuna selva è in grado di produrne uno simile. In un passaggio di grande spessore teologico, l’Inno sottolinea che «il Creatore stesso destinò un legno, per porre rimedio ai danni venuti dal legno».

🇬🇧 🎙️A Triune Fiat: The Annunciation as the New Creation

It is very fitting to contemplate the mystery of the Annunciation in the light of the mystery of Creation. The Annunciation is the beginning of Redemption and therefore the new Creation, when all things begin to be made anew. God spoke and things were created. God pronounced His Fiat and all creatures were made. God speaks again at the Incarnation of His Son, and the Word becomes flesh. It is the Triune God who speaks and says Fiat at the beginning of humankind and at its restoration.
