🇬🇧 🎙️A Triune Fiat: The Annunciation as the New Creation

It is very fitting to contemplate the mystery of the Annunciation in the light of the mystery of Creation. The Annunciation is the beginning of Redemption and therefore the new Creation, when all things begin to be made anew. God spoke and things were created. God pronounced His Fiat and all creatures were made. God speaks again at the Incarnation of His Son, and the Word becomes flesh. It is the Triune God who speaks and says Fiat at the beginning of humankind and at its restoration.

🇬🇧🎙️When words lose their connection to reality: The importance of Universals

In this fourth episode of “A Healthy Reason for a Strong Faith” Series we analyse the importance of words and their necessary connection to reality. Words are signs: they point us to a meaning beyond them and require a clear bond with reality to be significant. The crux of the matter is the problem of the Universals, i.e., that which can be attribute to many things. The denial of universal essences as real, so as to reduce them to only sounds for a mere communication sake, can only lead to subjectivism. This is deleterious. In turn, the State, the Police, or a powerful political group, will decide what (new) meaning words should have. Precisely what happens today in our society, where culture is influenced by controlling the language.

🇬🇧 The Compunction of the Heart: The Road to an Enduring Conversion

Homily given by Fr Serafino M. Lanzetta on 21 February 2026Saturday after Ash Wednesday

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Brothers and Sisters,

Today, on this Saturday after Ash Wednesday, we gather for a day of fraternity and formation. We have just begun our Lenten journey, and I would like to reflect with you on the importance of guarding the heart. In particular, I would like to focus on compunction of heart — a great spiritual exercise for Lent — and to consider it from a Franciscan perspective. We will look at the life of our Seraphic Father, Saint Francis.

The Symphony of Truth: Theological Essays

Theology is in fact the intellectus fidei-the intelligence of the one faith, the same yesterday and today, composed of distinct but analogical mysteries. The truth is symphonic, as Hans Urs von Balthasar says. It is like one piece of music played by many instruments. The greater the variety of instruments playing the same piece, the better they express the beauty of that one musical score. The same should be true of the multitude of believers around the world. If this is not the case, there is some lack, not in the mystery, but in the approach to the faith. The role of a single instrument is only clear within the context of the whole symphony. Similarly, it is only within the context of the whole faith, starting with the faith of the Church, that one can distinguish the peculiarity of a single mystery. This is what I tried to do by bringing together individual tiles of theology-theological opinions offering an interpretation of dogma and its defence when necessary, holding on as close as possible to revealed dogma-in order to compose one grand mosaic.
